Due to life experiences, they care deeply about supporting people with mental health struggles, including drug addictions.

Biography:

Clarity grew up in a physically and emotionally abusive home, and wasn't removed and put into foster care until they were 10 years old. They had severe behavioral problems and often lashed out or tried to self harm, and as a result there was extreme difficulty placing them somewhere they could be adopted.

Clarity went through extremely rough teenage years, and was hospitalized multiple times for trying to commit suicide or for overdosing on drugs. They had a severe addiction problem and didn't know how to cope with their own health or how worthless they felt. Their last hospitalization occurred when they were 17, and they weren't released until they were 18, at which point they had nowhere they could go.

For a while Clarity was homeless, and was in and out of shelters and similar places trying to survive. However, eventually they reached a "breaking point" where they decided they didn't want to live like this anymore, and began the very long process of trying to pick themselves back up. They started by attending free programs for people who had been in foster care and never adopted, trying to teach life skills important for living independently. They began searching for odd jobs when they could, and trying to pick up experience that they could somehow put into a resume. After two years of on and off working at this, they were finally accepted for a job at a clothing store at age 20.

Despite their struggles with their health and not yet having a home, Clarity was determined to never miss a day of work and to not lose this job. It was their coworkers who initially noticed their hard work and learned that they were still homeless, and helped them out with getting the funds to at least get a small apartment close to their job. Thus, at 21 Clarity finally found a roof over their head.

From then on Clarity slowly began to recover and to better their life. A combination of mutual aid and work helped them to buy furniture and keep on getting food and other essentials, and getting promoted to supervisor at 23 helped contribute a lot to keeping them on their feet. Overtime, they were able to obtain insurance that would cover them getting mental health care and having more doctor visits to help with problems stemming from years of abuse, drug addiction, and hospitalization.

Although it took many years, Clarity is finally beginning to feel like they're living a life she can be proud of. They're on her way down a path of recovery, and even has a girlfriend who they're helping to do the same. They're thus very caring and passionate about other people who have been through the same struggles, and wants to be a hope for others the way people were for them.
